Muda today announced its second batch of six candidates who will be contesting the state elections on Aug 12.

In a press conference, the party said its co-founder and information chief, Luqman Long, will contest the Bandar seat in Terengganu.

Muda Selangor chairman Al Hafiz Ikhwan was announced as the candidate for Dusun Tua in Selangor, a seat currently held by DAP.

It also named Dobby Chew Chuan Yang, an activist and former deputy chairman of Amnesty International Malaysia, to contest the Seri Setia seat, which has a PKR incumbent.

Other candidates include Muda's key leaders in Selangor, R Siva Prakash, who will be fielded in Kuala Kubu Baru, and Afriena Shaqiera Sariff, who will contest the Sungai Kandis seat, both of which are currently held by DAP and PKR, respectively.

Meanwhile, the party announced that Priyankaa Loh Xiang Pin, who is also the head of the state education bureau, will be contesting the Pantai Jerejak seat in Penang.

"Priyankaa Loh was raised by an Indian family from Bagan in Penang.

"She is a tuition teacher who teaches online for a school in Italy.

"She is proficient in Malay, English, Mandarin, Hokkien and Tamil. So she is often called 'The Malaysian Woman' due to her mixed ethnicity," it said.

Last week, Muda announced its first batch of four candidates who will contest in Selangor, namely in Seri Serdang, Sentosa, Batu Tiga and Bukit Antarabangsa.
