The education ministry says it has enough books to replace those damaged in the recent floods.

Students whose textbooks were damaged in the floods will get a replacement for free, says Education Minister Radzi Jidin.

He said the ministry would ensure that efforts to replace the damaged textbooks are carried out immediately to enable teaching and learning (PdP) sessions to run smoothly and in an orderly manner.

“Based on the education ministry’s records as of today, a total of 263,662 textbooks were damaged in the floods involving 14,422 students nationwide.

“The ministry has enough stock to replace the damaged books to enable students to follow the PdP session beginning next week,” he said in a video posted on his Facebook page today.

He said this followed many inquiries to the ministry regarding textbooks that were damaged by the floods which hit several states recently.
