Ringgit hits lowest this year against US dollar, major Asian currencies
The local currency ended trading by hitting the 4.70 mark against the greenback.

The ringgit today hit the 4.70 mark against the US dollar, its lowest performance this year.
As trading drew to a close at 6pm, the ringgit stood 4.7055/7105 against the US dollar, after opening at 4.7050/7095 this morning, lower than yesterday's close of 4.6875/6915.
The ringgit also traded lower against major currencies, easing against the euro at 4.9690/9743 from yesterday's close of 4.9673/9716, against the British pound at 5.7167/7228 from yesterday's 5.7117/7166, and against the Japanese yen at 3.1534/1570 from 3.1489/1518.
It also went down against the Indonesian rupiah to 303.1/303.6 from 302.5/303.0, against the Philippine peso to 8.26/8.28 from 8.23/8.24 on Tuesday, and against the Singapore dollar to 3.4334/4373 from 3.4275/4310.
It appreciated slightly against the Thai baht to 12.8759/8949 from 12.8884/9043.
