Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu has appointed more politicians from Amanah to lead two agriculture development boards in Kedah and Kelantan – states where the party faces prospects of being wiped out again at the coming state polls.

Kelantan Amanah chief Muhammad Husain has been appointed as the chairman of the Kemubu Agricultural Development Board, while the party's Kedah chief Ismail Salleh will lead the Muda Agricultural Development Board.

"The appointments are based on their extensive experience in the field of administration, policy and community development.

"I am confident in their knowledge and credibility to execute the trust of leading both federal statutory bodies under the agriculture and food security ministry," said Mohamad, who is also the Amanah president.

The appointments came less than a month after Mohamad named three Amanah leaders to lead agencies under his ministry as well as two others from PKR and DAP.

On May 10, he appointed Faiz Fadzil to chair the Fisheries Development Authority and Mahfuz Omar to chair the Farmers' Organisation Authority.

Both men stood as PH candidates in the election last year but were defeated.

A former Amanah assemblyman from Perak, Aminuddin Zulkipli, was appointed as chairman of the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority.
