The health ministry is updating its Covid-19 SOPs, with an announcement to be made soon, says minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

She said this followed the announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) on May 5 that Covid-19 was no longer categorised as a global health emergency (PHEIC).

However, she advised Malaysians to continue practising the existing SOPs including wearing a face mask when in public places, especially for those with symptoms, and ensuring hand sanitation and personal hygiene.

"We at the health ministry are discussing the latest protection measures to be implemented for the public in the near future even though Covid-19 is no longer a PHEIC," she said in a video uploaded on Facebook yesterday.
