Farhash Wafa Salvador, the former political secretary of Anwar Ibrahim, has been announced as the executive chairman of Excel Force MSC Bhd effective yesterday.

The company announced his appointment in a notification to Bursa Malaysia, followed by the announcement of Muhammad Rais Abdul Karim's resignation as independent non-executive chairman.

According to the company's annual financial report, as of March 31, 2022, the majority of Excel Force shares were held by Wong Thean Soon, the managing director of MyEG Services, another publicly listed company on Bursa Malaysia.

Earlier this year, Farhash, the former Perak PKR chairman, was appointed as non-executive, non-independent chairman of 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd.

He replaced Robin Tan Yeong Ching, the son of entrepreneur Vincent Tan.

This was announced a week after his appointment as executive chairman of the Apex Equity Holdings Bhd Group, replacing Ahmad Redza Abdullah who resigned in September 2022.

In its filing to Bursa, Excel Force said Farhash had over a decade of experience in the fields of business, consulting and advice.

"Farhash is also and has been a director and/or shareholder in at least 10 private companies including Swag Technologies Sdn Bhd, Salvador & Sons Sdn Bhd and Pacific Samudera Sdn Bhd," it said.

In a separate notice, Excel Force said Rais had resigned "to pursue his own interests".
