Ex-spy chief Hasanah dies

The former Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation director-general passed away at 66 after a battle with cancer.

Former spy chief Hasanah Abdul Hamid died today after a battle with cancer. She was 66. 

Hasanah, the former Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation director-general, was acquitted in August last year of criminal breach of trust involving US$12.1 million belonging to the Malaysian government in 2018. 

She was previously granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal in the case.
