An opposition MP took a jibe at the government today, questioning the attendance of MPs at one point on the last day of the current Dewan Rakyat sitting.

Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin of Perikatan Nasional said that in line with the practice throughout most of the fasting month, no break was observed during today's session.

"Sadly, in the administration bloc, only the transport minister was there to present and wind up a bill for the transport ministry.

"This isn't fake news, okay?" he added in a Facebook post.

The current Dewan Rakyat sitting began on Feb 13. It was originally scheduled to end in March, but extended for two days until April 4.

On March 9, it was reported that proceedings came close to a halt for a second time that week due to a lack of quorum.

According to Standing Order 13, at least 26 of the 222 MPs are required to be present for proceedings to be held.
