Mas Ermieyati made PAC chairman

Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin was today appointed as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for the 15th Parliament term. 

The former deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Department replaces Wong Kah Wong, who had chaired PAC since August 2020. 

The matter was proposed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Mas Ermieyati is the second woman to be appointed to the post, after Noraini Ahmad. 

Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi meanwhile was appointed as vice-chairman. 

PAC, meant to check public provisions authorised by Parliament, has between six and 12 members appointed by the committee.
