Over 31,000 still at flood relief centres in Johor

Batu Pahat continues to record the highest numbers at 31,581 individuals.

The flood situation in Johor has continued to improve, with the number of evaucees down to 31,680 as of 8am today compared to 33,254 at 8pm yesterday.

According to the state disaster management committee, the districts of Batu Pahat, Segamat and Muar are still affected with 8,992 families placed at 107 temporary relief centres.

"Batu Pahat has the biggest number of flood victims at 31,581 individuals, followed by Segamat (75) and Tangkak (24)," it said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the secretariat of the district disaster management committee in Batu Pahat said good weather is expected, with many flood victims likely able to return to their homes.
