Former prime minister Najib Razak has reportedly been taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) from Kajang Prison, MalaysiaNow has learnt from a credible source.

This comes a week after the general election which saw Umno striking a deal with Pakatan Harapan to form the government.

It is understood that the former leader, who started serving his sentence more than three months ago after losing his final appeal at the Federal Court over the SRC International case, was moved today by the prison authorities.

Neither the Prisons Department nor HKL have responded to queries from MalaysiaNow.

Since his jailing, Najib has been in and out of prison to seek treatment at HKL as well as the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital.

He returned to prison on Sept 23 after doctors gave him a clean bill of health.
