The use of mobile phones in voting areas is not allowed during the 15th general election (GE15), the Election Commission (EC) has reminded voters.
It said in a statement that those with mobile phones at voting areas will need to leave them at the designated spots after receiving their ballot papers and collect them once they have finished voting.
"The implementation of the new voting guidelines can be referred to in the poster '10 Voting Steps Guidelines' that explains the full voting process. Further details will be uploaded on the EC’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter," it said.
Notices and posters about the mobile phone ban will also be placed outside and inside voting areas as reminders.
The EC also reminded voters to keep voting information to themselves, in line with the Election Offences Act 1954.
It likewise urged voters to comply with the voting measures in place.
