New infections at 2,340 as 6 more deaths logged

Another 2,340 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,782,624.

There were 2,502 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,715,417.

There are now 30,991 active cases, of which 29,604 or 95.5% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 17 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,301 (4.2%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 69 are in ICU with 42 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 62.1%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 18.5%.

Another six deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,216.
