Former prime minister Najib Razak has arrived at Kajang Prison to start his 12-year jail sentence following the Federal Court's decision to uphold his conviction for his SRC International charges.

Najib was transported in a black SUV followed by a fleet of vehicles which accompanied him from the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya to Kajang.

He arrived at the prison at 6.15pm.

A five-man Federal Court bench earlier today upheld his conviction and sentence for the misappropriation of RM42 million in SRC International funds.

Najib was convicted, sentenced to 12 years in jail and fined RM210 million by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on July 28, 2020.

The ruling was upheld by the Court of Appeal on Dec 8, 2021.
