Patrons of entertainment outlets such as pubs and night clubs must still check in with MySejahtera and activate the MySJ Trace function before entering the premises after the latest easing of restrictions takes effect on May 14.

The same rules apply to employees, the government’s SOPs for the transition towards the endemic phase show.

Customers must also undergo an RTK-Antigen test, supervised by a medical practitioner registered with the Malaysian Medical Council, within 24 hours of entering the premises, and wear face masks at all times unless they are eating, drinking or dancing.

Alternatively, RTK-Antigen tests can be provided for patrons before they enter the premises.

The National Security Council said these measures were put in place given the high risk of Covid-19 infection at pubs and night clubs which are enclosed areas with limited ventilation.

It also noted that physical distancing would be difficult to observe, and face masks would not be used all the time.

Night clubs and pubs have been closed since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and were only given the green light to reopen this month.
