A special sitting of the fourth session of the 14th Parliament for the Dewan Rakyat will be held on Jan 20 for the government to explain to the people its actions and plans to tackle the floods issue.

Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the special meeting would be the best platform for MPs to obtain feedback on flood issues.

“The special sitting will be held in line with Standing Order 11 (3) of the Dewan Rakyat.

“It is to discuss matters relating to national interests namely the flood and post-flood assistance coordination for the Malaysian Family and the long-term flood management plans,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the special sitting had received the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
