Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN), a week after being admitted for a medical check-up.
IJN said in a statement that he was discharged at about 11.30am today.
“Mahathir underwent a series of medical investigations and was ready for discharge as planned,” it said.
Mahathir, 96, was admitted to IJN on Dec 16 for a full medical check-up and further observation.
He was previously admitted in 2016 and 2013 for the treatment of chest infections.
