Dr M admitted to IJN

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for a full medical check-up and further observation.

IJN said in a statement that the former prime minister was admitted at 7pm.

It said he is expected to remain at IJN for the next few days.

Mahathir was last admitted to IJN in August 2016 for the treatment of a chest infection.

Prior to that, he was admitted in November 2013, also for a chest infection, and discharged several days later.
