The wife of Padang Rengas MP Nazri Aziz who recently tested positive for Covid-19 today denied breaking home quarantine rules after a video went viral of her at the beach, wearing a pink wristband.

Haflin Saiful told MalaysiaNow that the video was taken within her home compound.

“It was my private beach, my territory in my compound,” she said.

The 20-second video uploaded on Instagram had shown Haflin running towards the ocean accompanied by her children and maid.

Nazri, the former tourism minister, is currently warded at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab in Kota Bharu.

He tested positive for the virus a week after he held a press conference at the Umno headquarters to declare that he no longer supported Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

He told MalaysiaNow he believed he contracted the virus from Umno blogger Zaharin Mohd Yasin, who had attended the same press conference.

Other prominent politicians who have contracted Covid-19 of late include Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mustapa Mohamad, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Rina Harun, National Unity Minister Halimah Sadique, and Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin.
