Ringgit hits 4.7 in early trade, lowest this year

It slid to 4.7050/7095 against the US dollar, compared to 4.6890/6940 recorded on Sept 19.

The ringgit fell to its lowest level against the US dollar this morning, sliding to 4.7050/7095 from yesterday's close of 4.6875/6915.

It also traded lower against other major currencies, easing against the euro at 4.9694/9742, the pound at 5.7147/7202 and the yen at 3.1573/1605. 

The previous low was recorded on Sept 19, when it fell to 4.6890/6940 against the US dollar.

The ringgit also went down against the Thai baht to 12.9038/9211, the Indonesian rupiah to 303.6/304.1, the Philippine peso to 8.25/8.27 and the Singapore dollar to 3.4353/4391.
