Solicitor-General Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh has been appointed as attorney-general effective Sept 6, replacing Idrus Harun whose appointment on contract ends on Sept 5.

Chief Secretary to the Government Mohd Zuki Ali said Terrirudin's appointment had received the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, in line with Clause (1) Article 145 of the Federal Constitution.

Idrus was appointed as attorney-general on March 6, 2020 for a two-year period to replace Tommy Thomas, who resigned from the post on Feb 28, 2020 following the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government.

He was reappointed for another year in March 2022, and again for six more months in March this year.
