Opposition chief Hamzah Zainudin today urged the coalition government led by Pakatan Harapan to clarify its Malaysia Madani tagline to prevent confusion among the people.

He said without a strong explanation, the concept could cause divisions, especially among academics and religious leaders.

He added that it was a good policy which emphasised sustainability, well-being, creativity, respect, confidence, kindness and mercy.

"So if the leaders are good, the nation is good as well. But if the leaders are corrupt and carry with them a wrong and irresponsible ideology, then the future of the people and country will be destroyed," he said in his debate on the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the opening of the Dewan Rakyat session yesterday.
