Perikatan Nasional (PN) is about 80% ready to face the six upcoming state elections, including on the distribution of seats, says PN deputy chairman Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said discussions for the state elections were held with the coalition's component parties during the 15th general election last year.

"It can be said that 80% of our preparations have been completed and the next move is to refine our strategy," he told a press conference at the Penang Gerakan headquarters in George Town last night.

Earlier Hadi, who is PAS president, held a dialogue with Gerakan leaders including its chairman Dominic Lau and Penang chairman Oh Tong Keong.

The six states that will hold their elections this year are Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Terengganu.

Commenting on the dialogue, Hadi said it was aimed at strengthening the relationship between PN parties and Gerakan, as well as to provide accurate information on related issues, including Islamophobia.
