Annuar Musa, 2 Wanita leaders expelled from Umno

The Umno Supreme Council has expelled long-time Kelantan Umno strongman Annuar Musa, in a move seen as removing dissident voices from the party following its president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's decision to collaborate with Pakatan Harapan to form the government.

Last night's meeting chaired by Zahid also expelled Shamsiah Yasin, the Arau Wanita chief and wife of former Perlis Umno leader Shahidan Kasim, who was sacked after contesting the recent election under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) banner.

A third member who was expelled was Fatimah Kassim, the wife of Maran MP Ismail Abd Muttalib, the former Umno man who retained his seat under PN in the Nov 19 polls.
