Daily caseload drops below 2,900 as 8 more deaths reported

A total of 97 are in ICU with 62 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 2,877 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,978,350.

There were 3,226 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,914,858.

There are now 26,856 active cases, of which 24,743 or 92.1% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 0 (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 2,016 (7.5%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 97 are in ICU with 62 in need of respiratory assistance. 

Another eight deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,636.
