New infections top 1,800 as 5 more deaths logged

Another 1,847 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,806,954.

There were 2,148 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,744,636.

There are now 26,033 active cases, of which 24,752 or 95.1% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 10 (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 1,204 (4.6%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 67 are in ICU with 45 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 60.6%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 18.3%.

Another five deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,285.
