Daily caseload tops 4,800 as death toll up by 12

Another 4,896 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,719,394.

There were 2,979 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,638,716.

There are now 44,622 active cases, of which 42,942 or 96.2% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 35 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,577 (3.5%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 68 are in ICU with 37 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 64.9%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 18.1%.

Another 12 deaths were reported, including six who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 36,056.
