Trilateral security pact to include Brunei, says Hishammuddin
The original arrangement comprised Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The Trilateral Cooperative Arrangement (TCA) of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines will be expanded to Brunei, Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said today.
He said Brunei’s Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Awang Halbi Mohd Yussof had been informed of the matter and was currently awaiting approval from the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.
Hishammuddin said this during the minister’s question time, in response to a question from Wong Hon Wai (PH-Bukit Bendera) on the form of TCA between the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia and whether military cooperation would be extended to other Asean countries.
