New infections top 3,500 as death toll up by 5

A total of 40 are in ICU with 23 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 3,561 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,582,302.

There were 2,035 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,514,970.

There are now 31,540 active cases, of which 30,290 or 96.0% are undergoing home quarantine. 

Meanwhile, 26 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,184 (3.8%) have been hospitalised. 

A total of 40 are in ICU with 23 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 60.3%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 9.7%.

Another five deaths were reported, including two who were brought in dead. Total deaths stand at 35,792.
