Daily caseload drops to 2,000 as 5 more deaths reported

Another 2,033 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,534,665.

There were 1,337 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,474,358.

There are now 24,577 active cases, of which 23,573 or 95.9% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 13 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 959 (3.9%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 32 are in ICU with 18 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 60.7%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 7.3%.

Another five deaths were reported, including three who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,730.
