New infections fall below 1,700 as another 5 deaths logged

There are now 30,879 active cases, of which 29,693 or 96.2% are undergoing home quarantine.

Another 1,697 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,479,809.

There were 1,548 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,413,310.

There are now 30,879 active cases, of which 29,693 or 96.2% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 23 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,123 (3.6%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 40 are in ICU with 22 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 55.7%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 6.5%.

Another five deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,620.
