28% of children fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Some 45% have received at least one dose.

A total of 993,652 children or 28% of those aged five to 11 had completed their vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme For Children (PICKids) as of yesterday.

According to the CovidNow website, a total of 1,596,416 children or 45% have received at least one dose of vaccine.

For adolescents aged 12 to 17, a total of 2,901,725 or 93.3% have completed their vaccination while 2,999,490 or 96.4% have received at least one dose.

In terms of the adult population, 16,057,632 or 68.2% have received a booster dose while 22,970,424 or 97.6% have completed two doses of vaccine.

A total of 23,245,673 individuals of 98.8% have received at least one dose of vaccine.

Yesterday, a total of 37,536 vaccine doses were dispensed, with 16,994 as first doses, 16,459 as second shots and 4,083 as booster jabs.

This brings the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK)to 70,551,572.
