New infections cross 2,600 as another 6 deaths logged

The total number of active cases has risen to 22,953.

Another 2,605 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,463,740.

There were 2,014 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,405,197.

There are now 22,953 active cases, of which 21,612 or 94.2% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 24 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,250 (5.4%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 67 are in ICU with 38 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 54.6%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 9.0%.

Another six deaths were reported, including three who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,590.
