New infections dip to 1,300 as another 5 deaths reported

Another 1,352 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,450,859.

There were 6,074 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,378,864.

There are now 36,440 active cases, of which 35,439 or 97.3% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, five (0.0%) are at quarantine centres while 930 (2.6%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 66 are in ICU with 44 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 50.2%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 8.9%.

Another five deaths were reported, including one who was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,555.
