New infections dip to 2,100 as another 5 deaths reported

There were 6,890 recoveries, pushing the number of active cases down to 45,506.

Another 2,107 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,448,004.

There were 6,890 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,366,951.

There are now 45,506 active cases, of which 44,214 or 97.2% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 33 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,190 (2.6%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 69 are in ICU with 45 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 52.1%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 9.3%.

Another five deaths were reported, none of which was brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,547.
