Daily caseload tumbles below 2,500 as 8 more deaths logged

There were 9,215 recoveries, which saw active cases drop to just over 68,000.

Another 2,478 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,433,551.

There were 9,215 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,330,037.

There are now 68,007 active cases, of which 66,014 or 97.1% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 86 (0.1%) are at quarantine centres while 1,809 (2.7%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 98 are in ICU with 63 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 55.7%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 13.0%.

Another eight deaths were reported, including two who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,507.
