Daily caseload tumbles to 8,100 as another 12 deaths logged

ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 51.8%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 20.2%.

Another 8,112 Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 4,325,818.

Of the total number of cases recorded, 56 were in Category Three and above.

There were 15,765 recoveries, taking total recoveries to 4,144,728.

A total of 382 cases were admitted to hospital, with 167 (43.7%) in Category Three and above and 215 (56.3%) in Category One and Two.

Of the 56 cases in Category Three and above reported yesterday:

* 17 (30.36%) were not vaccinated or had not completed their vaccination;
* 21 (37.50%) had received two doses of vaccine;
* 18 (32.14%) had received a booster jab;
* 33 (58.93%) were aged 60 and above; and
* 38 (67.86%) had comorbidities.

There are now 145,798 active cases, of which 142,513 or 97.7% are undergoing home quarantine.

Meanwhile, 300 (0.2%) are at quarantine centres while 2,811 (1.9%) have been hospitalised.

A total of 174 are in ICU with 110 in need of respiratory assistance. ICU utilisation throughout the country stands at 51.8%, with Covid ICU utilisation at 20.2%.

Another 12 deaths were reported, including four who were brought in dead. Total deaths now stand at 35,292.

The country’s infectivity rate as of April 10 was 0.82.
