19 reported deaths take Covid toll to 31,092

Another 19 Covid-related deaths were reported on Dec 19, taking the cumulative death toll in the country to 31,092.

According to the health ministry’s Github data repository, four or 21.1% of these were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Johor had the highest number of reported deaths at four or 21.1% followed by Sabah and Terengganu at three or 15.8% each.

Kedah, Pahang, Perak and Selangor reported two deaths each while Kelantan reported one death.

No deaths were reported in eight states: Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis, Penang, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

A total of 3,108 new cases were reported yesterday, taking the overall total to 2,718,955.

As of yesterday, there were 53,482 active Covid-19 cases reported and 3,701 recoveries.
