Najib ‘disappointed’ with appeals court decision

He says he has directed his lawyers to file another appeal at the Federal Court.

Former prime minister Najib Razak expressed disappointment today over the Court of Appeal’s decision to uphold his guilty verdict in a case linked to a graft scandal at state fund 1MDB.

Najib told a virtual news conference he had directed lawyers to file another appeal at the Federal Court.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and fined RM210 million last year for criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering for illegally receiving about RM42 million.
