36 reported deaths take Covid toll to 30,574

Another 36 Covid-related deaths were reported on Dec 4, taking the cumulative death toll in the country to 30,574.

According to the health ministry’s Github data repository, eight or 22.2% of these were brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

Sabah had the highest number of reported deaths at nine or 25% followed by Penang at six or 16.7%.

Johor and Kelantan reported four deaths each while Negeri Sembilan, Perak and Terengganu reported three deaths each.

Pahang reported two deaths while Perlis and Selangor reported one death each.

No deaths were reported in Kedah, Melaka, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.

A total of 4,896 new cases were reported yesterday, taking the overall total to 2,654,474.

As of yesterday, there were 62,668 active Covid-19 cases reported and 4,678 recoveries.
