New cases continue to hover over 22,000

Another 22,597 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,685,510.

Selangor recorded 5,814 cases, Sabah 2,834, Sarawak 2,427, Kedah 2,162, Penang 1,920, Johor 1,896, Kelantan 1,289, Kuala Lumpur 1,111 and Perak 1,061.

Terengganu recorded 739 cases, Pahang 579, Negeri Sembilan 345 and Melaka 269.

Perlis recorded 98 cases, Putrajaya 48 and Labuan five.

Active cases stand at 268,548 with 986 in the ICU and 451 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 19,492 patients recovered, bringing total recoveries to 1,401,160.

However, 252 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 15,802.
