New cases fall below 20,000 as death toll tops 14,000

Just over 5,300 cases in Selangor, 2,600 in Sabah.

Another 19,807 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,555,093.

Selangor recorded 5,379 cases, Sabah 2,638, Kedah 1,948, Sarawak 1,772, Penang 1,501, Johor 1,391 and Kelantan 1,196.

Kuala Lumpur recorded 999 cases, Perak 703, Pahang 598, Melaka 558, Terengganu 534 and Negeri Sembilan 508.

Perlis recorded 54 cases, Putrajaya 24 and Labuan four.

Active cases stand at 262,255 with 1,026 in the ICU and 496 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 18,200 patients recovered, bringing total recoveries to 1,278,670.

However, 232 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 14,168.
