Another 207 deaths as new cases top 16,000

Another 16,117 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 1,044,071.

Selangor recorded 6,616 cases, Kuala Lumpur 2,457, Kedah 1,000, Johor 907, Sabah 741, Melaka 674, Negeri Sembilan 669, Penang 618, Kelantan 592, Perak 583, Sarawak 405, Pahang 403 and Terengganu 317.

Putrajaya recorded 122 cases, Labuan 11 and Perlis two.

Active cases stand at 170,224 with 1,023 in the ICU and 524 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 11,526 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 865,439.

However, 207 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 8,408.
