Any result from Covid-19 self-test kits, whether positive, negative or invalid, must be reported to the health ministry through the MySejahtera application, Dr Adham Baba said today.

The health minister said it was the consumers’ responsibility to report the actual results and not to give false results.

If the results from the self-test kit are positive, he said, users must go to a private health facility, Covid-19 assessment centre or health clinic to be assessed before their status is uploaded to MySejahtera.

“If the results are negative but the person has symptoms, then he or she is also advised to report to a private clinic or health clinic for a similar assessment.

“As for an invalid result, the user is required to repeat the test,” he said at a joint press conference on the development of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme with coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin today.

As of Thursday, the health ministry through the Medical Devices Authority had given conditional approval for the sale and distribution of three types of Covid-19 self-test kits.
