The fourth term of Parliament will run for 15 days in September and another 32 days from October to December, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Harun said today.

In a statement, he said the first sitting of the Dewan Rakyat would run from Sept 6 to 30, while the second will run from Oct 25 to Dec 16.

Parliament and state assembly sittings have been suspended since January under the virus state of emergency.

Earlier, Azhar said MPs would be notified to attend a special five-day sitting on July 26.

The July 26 sitting, which will run for five days, is to allow MPs to debate the National Recovery Plan announced by Putrajaya last month.

Under the plan to gradually allow the resumption of daily activities, parliamentary sittings were to convene some time in September alongside an expected increase in the number of fully vaccinated people, subject to the virus situation.
