Daily cases hit new high as death toll passes 6,000

Another 9,353 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 827,191.

Selangor recorded 4,277 cases, Kuala Lumpur 1,398, Melaka 835, Negeri Sembilan 638, Johor 399, Kedah 364, Sarawak 352, Sabah 251, Pahang 247, Penang 180 and Perak 145.

Kelantan recorded 89 cases, Labuan 85, Terengganu 50, Putrajaya 39 and Perlis four.

Active cases stand at 84,021 with 959 in the ICU and 451 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 5,910 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 737,103.

However, 87 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 6,067.
