New cases drop to 5,293 as another 60 deaths logged

Another 5,293 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 696,408.

Selangor recorded 1,680 cases, Negeri Sembilan 693, Sarawak 661, Johor 627, Kuala Lumpur 379, Perak 205, Melaka 183, Kedah 170, Kelantan 167, Sabah 163, Labuan 156 and Penang 114.

Pahang recorded 77 cases, Terengganu 12, Putrajaya four and Perlis two.

Active cases stand at 63,815 with 880 in the ICU and 454 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 5,941 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 628,185.

However, 60 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 4,408.
