Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah must obtain a police permit before holding the press conference scheduled for 3pm tomorrow at his home in Jalan Langgak Golf, Kuala Lumpur, says health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said under the SOPs of the full lockdown enforced on June 1, no gatherings can be held even with a limit on the number of attendees.

“He has to get a police permit,” Noor Hisham told MalaysiaNow.

A media invitation was sent out to reporters this afternoon, informing them of Razaleigh’s press conference tomorrow.

MalaysiaNow understands that the number of reporters allowed to attend the press conference has been limited to 10 to prevent a crowd.

The press conference is also expected to be broadcast online, whether through Facebook Live or Zoom.

Last week, Putrajaya extended the lockdown which was initially scheduled to end today to June 28.

According to the National Security Council website, any activity that could cause large gatherings which make physical distancing and adherence to health measures difficult is prohibited.
