Over 700 in ICU as daily deaths shoot to new high

More than 60,000 active cases with 61 deaths recorded.

Another 6,509 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 518,600.

Selangor recorded 2,049 cases, Sarawak 530, Johor and Kuala Lumpur 468 each, Kelantan 451, Penang 384, Kedah 348, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka 329 each, Terengganu 263, Pahang 257, Perak 231, Sabah 184 and Labuan 171.

Putrajaya recorded 40 cases and Perlis seven.

Active cases stand at 60,018 with 711 in the ICU and 369 in need of respiratory assistance.

Another 3,452 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 456,273.

However, 61 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 2,309.
