Death toll up by 27 as 4,855 new cases logged

Total cases at 458,077 with 481 in the ICU.

Another 4,855 Covid-19 cases were recorded today, taking total confirmed infections in the country to 458,077.

Selangor recorded 1,783 cases, Kuala Lumpur 521, Johor 467, Sarawak and Penang 395 each, Kelantan 339, Perak 302, Kedah 193, Terengganu 148 and Negeri Sembilan 100.

Sabah recorded 76 cases, Melaka 67, Pahang 56, Putrajaya nine and Labuan four.

Active cases stand at 41,582 with 481 in the ICU and 247 in need of respiratory assistance.

Eight more clusters were detected:

1. Jalan Keretapi Lama (Kuala Selangor in Selangor; 81 screened, 24 positive)
2. Lima Jalan Kebun (Klang and Kuala Langat in Selangor; 1,226 screened, 11 positive)
3. Jalan Tropika Industri (Johor Bahru in Johor; 112 screened, 14 positive)
4. Jalan Suasa Industri (Johor Bahru in Johor; 72 screened, 12 positive)
5. Jalan Chain Ferry (Seberang Perai Tengah and Utara in Penang; 72 screened, 14 positive)
6. Jalan Lilin (Miri and Lawas in Sarawak; 262 screened, 22 positive)
7. Kongsi Lapan (Tawau in Sabah; 56 screened, 11 positive)
8. Tanjung Rimau (Alor Gajah in Melaka; 51 screened, 14 positive)

There are currently 457 active clusters across the country.

Another 3,347 patients were discharged, bringing total recoveries to 414,707.

However, 27 more deaths were reported, pushing the virus toll to 1,788.
